Women’s Fund Armenia announces a grant call for women, girls, women’s groups, initiatives, civil society organizations, social enterprises, and other women-led initiatives in Aragatsotn Province (particularly in Ashtarak and surrounding villages).
At Women’s Fund Armenia, we believe that social change does not only happen in formal institutions or large organizations. It also happens in small communities, in conversations between neighbors, in women’s informal networks, in spaces of care, in creative initiatives, in local businesses, in youth groups, and in everyday acts of resistance and support.
This call is an invitation to women in Aragatsotn to share their ideas, strengthen local initiatives, and become part of a wider circle of women-led community action.
What kind of initiatives can be supported?
We are looking for small, realistic, community-rooted initiatives that respond to the needs, experiences, and dreams of women and girls in Aragatsotn.
Proposed initiatives may focus on one or more of the following areas:
- Women’s rights, gender equality, and community awareness
- Prevention of gender-based violence and support for women survivors of violence
- Women’s economic empowerment and local entrepreneurship
- Mental health, healing, collective care, and well-being
- Community mobilization and women’s leadership
- Intergenerational exchange of knowledge and experience (between women and girls)
- Women-led cultural, artistic, or storytelling initiatives
- Environmental justice, sustainable living, gardening, food systems, and local knowledge
- Support for displaced women, single mothers, women with disabilities, older women, young women, or other groups facing isolation and exclusion
- Creation of safe, inclusive, and caring spaces for women and girls
- Initiatives aimed at reducing poverty among women
We especially welcome ideas that are connected to local realities and that bring women together in meaningful ways.
Examples of possible initiatives include: local women’s discussion or support circle, small campaign on women’s rights or violence prevention, workshop series for young women or adolescent girls, community storytelling, photography, theatre, or art initiative, women-led environmental or gardening initiative, small local fair or event featuring women entrepreneurs, healing, self-care, or collective care activity for women activists or community members, mentorship or skills-sharing initiative between women, community mapping of women’s needs, resources, and priorities, small pilot idea by a women-led social enterprise. These are only examples. We are open to creative ideas that come from the community itself.
Who can apply?
This call is open to applicants from Ashtarak and surrounding villages in Aragatsotn region, including:
- Registered women’s organizations
- Local NGOs or community-based organizations working with women and girls
- Informal women’s groups or collectives
- Women activists and community mobilizers
- Women entrepreneurs and women-led social enterprises
- Young women’s groups
- Initiatives led by displaced women or other marginalized groups
Applicants do not need to have a long history of formal projects. We are also interested in supporting women who may not yet have access to traditional funding but have strong community connections, ideas, and motivation.
Grant amount: Up to AMD 1,200,000
Project duration: 2–4 months
Application deadline: July 15, 2026
We will prioritize initiatives that:
- Are led by women or girls from Aragatsotn region
- Respond to real needs in the community
- Create safe and inclusive spaces for women and girls
- Strengthen women’s participation, leadership, and solidarity
- Include marginalized women and girls
- Are realistic and possible to implement with a small grant
- Show care for the community and for the people involved
- Have potential to continue or grow beyond the small grant

Why this call?
Women’s Fund Armenia is expanding its work in Aragatsotn region and wishes to build stronger relationships with women, groups, organizations, and local initiatives already active in Ashtarak and surrounding communities. Through this call, we hope to better understand the local context, support existing women-led efforts, and create new connections based on trust, solidarity, and shared feminist values.
This is also part of our broader commitment to supporting community-based women’s rights work beyond Yerevan and strengthening women’s organizing in different regions of Armenia.
