In Partnership with filia Fund: Strengthening Feminist Movements and Women-Led Initiatives Across Armenia (2025)

In 2025, with the support of the filia Fund, Women’s Fund Armenia provided institutional and resilience-building grants to feminist initiatives, women-led groups, and activists across Armenia.

“Women’s Art Circles”– Through the project “Women’s Art Circles,” Mariam Aleksanyan and Bela Poghosyan, an individual entrepreneur and an artist, facilitated a series of women’s circles in Vanadzor focused on self-awareness, emotional well-being, and social consciousness. The project brought together women and girls of different ages through eight meetings and a retreat in Dsegh, creating a supportive space for reflection, learning, and collective care.

Cultural and Social Narrative Laboratory (CSN Lab)– Within the framework of the project “School of Complex Past. Environment: femprogram,” CSN Lab implemented a feminist and environmental alternative education program in Yerevan. The three-day intensive school brought together more than 30 participants to explore ecofeminism, environmental justice, climate activism, and women’s contributions to environmental movements through lectures, workshops, and collective learning.

Women’s Solidarity Center– Through the project “The Place is the Kitchen,” the Women’s Solidarity Center organized a series of community-based gatherings in Dsegh, Margahovit, and neighboring communities of the Lori region. The initiative created safe spaces for women to discuss gender roles, violence prevention, emotional well-being, and self-realization through workshops, discussions, forum theatre, and meetings with specialists, while also strengthening local women’s networks and solidarity.

Jazve Talks Podcast– Through the project “Strengthening Resilience for Feminist Initiatives,” Jazve Talks produced a series of podcast episodes addressing gender-based violence, empowerment self-defense, online harassment, and AI-related challenges faced by women artists. The project strengthened the podcast’s production capacity, expanded its audience, and amplified the voices of feminist activists, practitioners, and artists in Armenia.

Women’s Resource Center– Through a well-being and capacity-strengthening program for its team and network members, the Women’s Resource Center implemented feminist theory training, advocacy discussions on labor rights and ILO Convention 190, wellness retreats, and care-focused activities. The initiative supported participants’ mental and physical well-being, strengthened their knowledge of gender justice, feminism, and labor rights, and fostered a culture of collective care, resilience, and mutual support among activists, volunteers, and community members.
