On May 2-5, we hosted our partner-s from German filia foundation and their group of donors at the Women’s Fund Armenia. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the WFA, our partners, their work directions, challenges and obstacles, success stories, etc.

On May 2, the first meeting with the group was held at the WFA office, during which the Fund team got to know the group. We told our guests about the main directions of the Fund’s activities.

In the second half of the day, we were also joined by various partners of the Fund, who talked about their feminist activities, cooperation with the Fund, current challenges and achievements.

On May 3, we visited the Sexual Assault Crisis Center together, where the center’s employees Tatevik Aghabekyan and Inessa Adilkhanyan presented the center’s activities, the general situation of sexual violence in Armenia, gaps in the legislative and educational system, etc.

Then we also visited the Women’s Center. Shushi. The head of the center, Gayane Hambardzumyan, told about the challenges faced by the center as a result of the war, the problems of displaced women.

In the second part of the day, a feminist tour of Yerevan was planned for our guests. As you know, a feminist map of Yerevan was created within the framework of the “Femstory” program of the WFA this year, based on which we organized a tour for our guests, passing through all the areas that are important from the point of view of the feminist movement in Armenia.

On May 4, we left for Gyumri, where we were hosted by our colleagues from the Women’s Rights House. In their office, we met our other colleagues from Shirak region, we talked about their plans, their struggle for women’s rights.

In Gyumri, we also visited Mariam and Yeranuhi Aslamazyan’s gallery with our guests, where they got acquainted with the works of women artists and their feminist elements.

On May 5, the last day of the visit, we left for Ashtarak, The Gardens of Silihdar. As you know, the place is the healing center of the Women’s Fund Armenia, which is still being renovated. Here we introduced the concept of it to our guests, the importance of creating a safe and co-healing environment for women.

There, our colleague Gohar Khachatryan conducted a self-defense training for the group, combining theoretical and practical elements. You can see pictures from the event below.

Summarizing the visit of our colleagues, we can say that we had a very interesting and eventful week, during which we tried to familiarize them as much as possible with our activities and those of our colleagues.

P.S. By the way, we gave our German colleagues eco bags made by one of the women members of the Resource Center for Women’s Empowerment in Hrazdan. She is a displaced woman as a result of the war. If you liked the work, you can write to the page of the center and thus support both the center and its members.
